Are you continuing to learn and grow? As I look back over my years of homeschooling and trying various business models along the way, I quickly realized that I have to continue to grow and learn. Regaining my education by learning alongside my children has been a blessing. I’ve learned or relearn subjects all over again. As a result, I love history.
However, I can continue to learn and grow by investing in myself. As mothers, we neglect ourselves way too often. If we aren’t growing, we will lack the necessary skills and abilities in order to be successful in business. At times, it can be challenging or even scary to think about going back to school or learning a new skill. By improving my skill set, it makes me more marketable as I pursue business ventures or if I decide to ever return to the workforce.
Recently, I’ve decided that I would like to learn Photoshop. I am not a techie at all, so this is huge for me. I’m currently searching for a course or even pursuing an outside class to achieve this goal. We can pretty much learn anything if we set my minds to it, but I think I’m going to need a little more help with this one simply because it’s so techie. I am going to start with this book,

Networking With Others. The word “networking” has gotten a bad wrap over the years. People tend to associate it with Networking Market or those types of groups. We networking all the time without realizing it. If my son enjoys karate, I am definitely sharing where he takes lessons with other moms. If I discover an awesome recipe, I will not hesitate to cook it and share it with others. So, likewise with networking. Networking is connecting and interacting with other like-minded individuals to develop contacts and relationships. Networking with like-minded moms who are also in business encourages growth, accountability, a time for socialization and you’ll even develop friendships. So, don’t shy away from the term networking, use it to your advantage.
Find a Mentor. Find a mentor who can assist you in your growth. If you have a desire to learn or do something different and see someone else who is doing it, why not ask for their assistance? It could easily be just sitting down and observing them for a few hours or even a day. If you have to bring your children along, just ask. You may be surprised by their answer.
